| Celebrating Scottish innovation in mountain biking Thu Mar 01 @09:30 - 01:30PM This event is designed to raise awareness of opportunities in mountain biking product and service development and start you on the journey to bringing ideas to life.
It will showcase Scottish products already in the market. You will hear from companies already capitalising on the growth of the sport, and be able to take part in an "inspiration to action" session. You will also have the chance of an informal one-to-one clinic with an expert to discuss your idea.

*At the November 2011 D&G tourism conference, DD&G asked the region's tourism industry if they would be willing to pay to attend the next DD&G conference. The overwhelming response was yes, but only if the money raised was for DD&G's sustainability. DD&G is now applying a £15 (incl VAT) charge per delegate to attend this conference BUT SAVE £5 BY PAYING BEFORE RATHER THAN AT THE CONFERENCE. All funds raised will be held for future sustainability, specifically to be able to hold future workshops and networking; will not offset any of the costs of this conference; and will not be shared with partners. The Scottish Tourism Week Industry Dinner tales place at The Royal College of Surgeons on Wednesday 7th March 2012. It is being held during Scottish Tourism Week 2012 with the aim of gathering together as many people involved in the tourism industry as possible to celebrate the importance of tourism to the Scottish economy – both in terms of financial contribution and in providing 220,000 jobs. This prestigious event will bring together the private, public and elected sectors in an informal setting to allow debate/discussions with the aim of encouraging more collaboration for the overall benefit of the tourism sector and for Scotland generally.
Fergus Ewing, Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism, who is fully committed to the growth of the tourism sector in Scotland and is ideally placed to encourage collaboration, will be the keynote speaker at the dinner. The evening will provide a useful forum to discuss the issues facing the tourism sector with industry leaders and politicians as well as an ideal networking opportunity –

The charges for attendance at the dinner are as shown below and include attendance at the drinks reception in the Playfair Main Hall, followed by a three course dinner in The Wolfson Hall. Orders for wine can be placed at the cash bar facility.

The evening will commence at 7.00pm for 7.45pm with carriages 11.00pm-11.30pm.
