How do I make best use of this website?

There are two main functions of this website: to provide a place for Dumfries and Galloway tourism businesses to network; and to provide all the information a Dumfries and Galloway based tourism business needs in order to develop and promote their business.

The starting point for both is for you to create your business profile in the Networking section.

In Networking, you can join groups to discuss issues, ask questions, try out new ideas and share tips/hints. You will be able to see the profiles of other businesses in the region – maybe there are more business in your area than you realised – maybe you could work with them to attract more visitors – through this website, you can certainly connect with them. You can also add photos, videos and events.

As well as businesses, the networking section is also open to partners of DD&G and tourism industry suppliers. That means all news, events, funding, training, special offers, expert advice (etc) will be announced in our Networking section.

Our News and Events pages will be updated regularly (as news and events are announced). Once you have created your business profile in the networking section, you will automatically receive our email newsletters.

Beyond this website – you can also Tweet with DD&G on Twitter – or, if Facebook is more to your liking – you can be a Friend of DD&G, and join the DD&G Facebook page.

Can I have more than one profile in the networking section?


Example: I have multiple self catering units which I market independently, including separate websites


You can create as many business profiles on this website as you require, as long as each profile has its own email address. An email address can only be used for one profile.


This will mean you will have multiple profiles to manage, but we suggest that being able to highlight what/where the different elements of your business are to other industry members is a good idea.


To save you having to manage multiple profiles – you could use the status if your ‘dormant’ profile to indicate that businesses should contact you (etc) on your active profile.

 

Can I hide my address, my telephone number (etc) from being visible?

 

Example: I own self catering units, so do not want my home address to be visible on the website

 

You can edit your profile to specify what information is visible to (a) the Public or (b) Site members only or (c) only those who have connected with on this website or (d) only yourself

 

Click ‘Edit your Profile’ and use the padlock icons to the right of the information forms to select different levels of privacy
