The Board of DD&G would like to invite D&G's tourism industry to attend a presentation session, where we will find out the results of the recent Visitor Research and Tourism Audit work that DD&G has been undertaking.
The Dumfries and Galloway Wildlife Festival
Attract more visitors in March and April
DD&G recently announced that it is the new management of the Dumfries & Galloway Wildlife Festival.
Working with Scottish Natural Heritage and Dumfries & Galloway Council, DD&G will be supporting the Festival to develop its full potential as an attraction for visitors, as well as continuing to encourage locals to interact with and enjoy their region's wildlife.

Scottish Tourism Careers Festival
Each year, during Scottish Tourism Week, the industry comes together to discuss the topical issues of the day, showcase its successes and plan for the future. In 2011, Springboard Scotland introduced a week-long celebration of tourism careers in order to compliment and extend the reach of Tourism Week. Such was the success of these activities during Careers Week that Springboard is now co-ordinating a month-long Tourism Careers Festival to run throughout March 2012.
Tasty new event to boost D&G's economy
Dumfries & Galloway is set to become a May Day Bank Holiday destination for food lovers with the help of a new event to encourage foodie tourists to visit the region. Developed by Savour the Flavours of Dumfries & Galloway, Flavour Taster will be a four day celebration of Dumfries & Galloway food and drink, a bite sized version of the autumnal Flavour Fortnight event, taking place from 4th – 7th May 2012.
