The Wickerman Festival is Hotting up for 2012

wickermanAs 2012 is now well underway the team at The Wickerman Festival have all hands on deck to ensure that Dumfries and Galloway's biggest music event is bigger and better than ever!

Late last year brought the good news that all ticket prices for the event have been frozen at last year's levels. The price cap was music to Wicker fans' ears - rewarding them for their support and enthusiasm for one of Scotland's most distinctive independent music festivals.

Weekend adult tickets are now available online (Skiddle.com) and will remain at £90, with weekend concessions (13-15 years) costing £45 until 30th June 2012.

The Wickerman Festival will celebrate its 11th year across two days next summer, 20th and 21st July, promising an eclectic music line-up and exciting arts and entertainment for all ages. Past years have seen tens of thousands of revellers enjoy acts such as Ocean Colour Scene, Feeder and James, with a winning mix of acts expected to perform again next year. As always, the weekend festivities will be brought to a spectacular close, as thousands of music fans flock to witness the burning of the towering 40ft Wickerman statue at midnight.

Situated on rolling farmland in Dumfries and Galloway near Kirkcudbright there festival also boasts luxury camping options, including stunning, 18ft-tall hand-made tipis, yurts and cloudhouses, where fans can glamp it up. Pitches for campervans and caravans can also be booked with or without an electric hook up and will incur no increase in cost from last year.

Wickerman Festival Coordinator Helen Chalmers commented:

'As we head into our second decade, The Wickerman Festival has developed a strong identity thanks to our fantastic music, beautiful surroundings, ease of access and of course the festival goers, which adds up to create the ideal festival experience and atmosphere over the weekend.

Last year was our tenth anniversary, and our most successful festival to date. Freezing prices at last year's levels is our way of showing that we are dedicated to giving music fans a fantastic weekend, without breaking the bank.'

Fans can purchase tickets for the festival via www.thewickermanfestival.co.uk, as well as at partner site, www.skiddle.com.
