Springboard Scotland

Springboard Scotland will be facilitating the Speed networking session at the forthcoming D&G Tourism Industry Conference.
Springboard Scotland is part of the national charitable organisation, Springboard UK, dedicated to promoting hospitality, leisure and tourism (HLT) as first choice career to potential recruits and influencers throughout the UK.
We aim to:
- Attract more people of the right calibre into the hospitality, leisure & tourism industry
- Provide employers with access to a larger market of recruits
- Improve the perception of the industry as employers
- Raise the profile of these important careers within the UK economy to influencers and government
- Provide comprehensive information about the industry, job and career opportunities, entry routes and preparing for work
We do this through working with a range of partners across Scotland eg Skills Development Scotland, Scottish Enterprise, Chambers of Commerce, Schools and Colleges, JobCentrePlus, training providers and individual sector businesses, both large and small.
We listen to what the industry say the challenges are, then work with partners to address those challenges in ways that engage and inspire, and deliver positive outcomes for all involved.
An example of this is the work we do with schools to create opportunities for pupils to experience the industry and to consider a future in this vibrant and exciting sector, where opportunities abound. This is achieved through our two day ‘Introduction to Hospitality’ programme – an immersive and hands-on experience delivered in industry venues.
Springboard Scotland also recognises the latent talents of long term unemployed people, older people and disabled people and will work with agencies to deliver our IWiSH (Into Work in Scottish Hospitality) programme to develop opportunities for them to experience and enter the industry with the extra support they may require.
