Royal Highland Show - 21-24 June 2012
Want to get part of the Dumfries and Galloway village at the Royal Highland Show this year?
Dumfries & Galloway has a fantastic opportunity to promote its tourism product at the Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh at the end of June this year.
Each year a different region of Scotland 'hosts' the show and it is Dumfries & Galloway turn. We are exceptionally fortunate in having Alex Fergusson MSP as the president of the Show for 2012.
Under Alex's guidance, one of the themes that the local committee have decided to focus on for Dumfries & Galloway is 'Hungry for Adventure'. We have already started to work with some of our activity providers to decide what we can demonstrate and how visitors to the show can get taster sessions of the activities we offer in D&G. We have also secured a good area within the show ground that we can transform into a Dumfries & Galloway Village.
D&G has a diverse offering and we have already had interest from Walking groups, Nature Based Tourism organisations, Arts groups, festivals and accommodation providers in attending the Show. There will probably be a minimal charge for any business or organisation to be part of the Dumfries & Galloway Village – this depends on the level of sponsorship we are able to secure. The show is from Thurs 21 – Sun 24th June. Any group participating would have to actively promote their stand at all times.
If your business or organisation would is interested in attending then please get in touch with Wilma Finlay.
